This device does come with additional software for PC computers. With this device the simple plug and play functionality made getting started very simple. Write times do vary but whether writing a cd or dvd took minimal time to complete from start to finish.

It has allowed me to create both cd and dvd copies of my most important files and documents for future safe keeping. I have also not encountered any issues with this device which is a great plus.
